Kutchy: Enhanced Phishing Protection for Chrome
Kutchy is a free Chrome extension designed to provide users with robust phishing protection while maintaining their privacy. Unlike many other phishing alarm systems that rely on external reporting sites, Kutchy utilizes the user's own browsing history to identify potentially harmful sites. The extension features a simple color-coded alarm icon that indicates the safety of websites based on the user's previous visits, enhancing security from the first interaction with a site.
The extension operates by monitoring how many times a user has visited a site. If a site is visited for the first three times, the icon turns red, indicating caution. For sites visited fewer than seven times, it turns yellow, and if visited more than seven times, it turns green. Additionally, Kutchy offers configurable options to search for specific keywords, such as "bank," providing extra warnings based on user-defined criteria.
